Blue Mountains Photographer: 'The Young Empress'

I feel that working with a good team during a shoot makes my job so much easier.  For The Young Empress shoot, I worked again with so talented girls:  Erin for the hair and Lee for the make-up.

I love how I turn up, throw at them some ideas for my shoot and we all start to brew things. Inspiration images from the internet and Pinterest helps too, then we all bring our vision together.  

We never know exactly what we will do but on the day while doing the make-up and hair, it always comes together so well with each of our own skills.  Then... its my final twist with how I capture what I have in mind and edit how I visualised the images to be.  Absolutely thrilled with the result out of The Young Empress.  She is beautiful, confident and I feel theres also a sense of sensibility and yet empowerment in these images.

Je trouve que c'est tres important de travailler avec une bonne equipe, cela facilite mon travail.

Pour le shoot de 'La Jeune Imperatrice', j'ai travaille' avec la meme equipe de filles, tres talentueuses:  Erin pour la magnifique coiffure, Lee pour le maquillage.

Souvent, je viens et je leur lance un defi avec quelques unes de mes idees folles pour un shoot et on part toutes dans notre coin a cogiter.

On s'inspire aussi des images sur internet, Pinterest et ensuite, on rassemble toutes nos idees.

On ne sait jamais exactement comment on fera le jour du shoot mais c'est en commencant a faire chacunes nos propres travail, maquillage, coiffure ect... que tout arrive.
Au final bien sure, c'est a moi de capturer comment je l'ai en vision, et editer comme je le sens.

J'etais vraiment contente a voir le resultat de tant d'heures devant mon ordinateur (ah oui, je suis une perfectioniste!) C'est toutefois gratifiant!  J'ai imagine' 'La Jeune Imperatrice' ...tres belle, beaucoup de confiance en soit et malgre' une touche de sensibilite' et de pouvoir.

Blue Mountains Photographer: 'Mon Jardin Enchante' (My Enchanted Garden)

Amongst so many projects that I had which are scattered in my mind with bits and pieces and accessories and props all over my studio, as soon as I read the theme for Conceptual Magazine's issue for June,  I just knew what I wanted to do !  

So my little inspired shoot of Marie-Antoinette finally would come to life.  I even had in mind who would be my muse ... fair skin to make the make-up easier to apply but also wanted someone who would have done a shoot with me before, would know my style and would know how I work.  I had a vision, wanted the right person to see it and would say 'yes, I'll do it'.   

Everything went pretty well and (almost) as planned, the weather was even on our side or even a bit too warm but Grace was very good and worked it. 

One particular shot striked me because it didnt seem to show on my camera (getting the veil flowing up) but once at home on my computer, I could see that ray of light coming down to the veil ... 

I thought that shot was special !

So thrilled with the shots of course but as an artist (and perfectionist like me) the work doesnt finish just there... Pastel could be any colour of soft tinge but somehow, a dominant of pink kept popping in my mind ! (I've always loved pink)... so there... I had a hint of direction for the colour to go for as well.

After  hours and ... weeks of working on my selection of images and finishing touches I was very happy with the end result.

Avec tout les projets que j'ai en tete et les accessoires un peu partout dans mon studio, des que j'ai su le theme pour un de mes magazines que je suis, j'ai tout de suite su que faire !

Alors voila mon shoot inspire' de Marie-Antoinette allait enfin prendre forme.  J'avais une petite idee de mon sujet, avec peau claire (pour faciliter l'application du maquillage) mais j'ai aussi voulu quelqu'un qui aurait deja fait un shoot avec moi et qui sache comment je travaille.  J'avais une vision, et j'essaye toujours de prendre une personne qui serait tres bien dans la personalite' que je veux reproduire.
Tout allait...comme sur des roulettes, meme le temps etait magnifique... je dirais meme un peu chaud mais Grace (mon sujet) a tres bien assure'.
Une photo qui m'a surprise parceque cela ne se voyait pas dans l'ecran de mon appareil (le voile qui flottait) et une fois sur mon ordinateur, j'ai pu voir un rayon de lumiere tomber sur le voile...je trouvais cette capture tres speciale !

Tres satisfaite de mon shoot mais bien sure en tant qu'artiste (et perfectioniste que je suis), le travail ne s'arrete pas la, le Pastel peut etre de n'importe quel tinte mais le rose m'appellait (oui, j'ai toujours aime' la couleur rose :)... alors me voila avec aussi une direction pour le pastel.

Apres des heures, a voir des semaines a travailler sur les photos que j'ai selectionne' et retouche', j'etais tres satisfaite du resultat.

Blue Mountains Photographer: 'Training day at Firestation!'

Our group meeting organised to come and shoot during a training day at 

Wentworth Falls Fire Station (Thank you Caroline!) 

I couldnt stay very long but it was lots of fun.  This is my take of those I prefer the most.  

Thank you to the friendly staffs for being our 'models' for the afternoon :).

Blue Mountains Photographer: 'Mount Victoria Railway Station'

I always had a thing for old and historical buildings/locations and one that fascinates me is

Mount Victoria Railway Station which has also its own museum!

The museum is set in sixteen rooms of the heritage listed 1868 Mount Victoria Railway Station. It is part of the railway to the west which was built across the rough terrain of the Blue MOuntains.

Blue Mountains Photographer: 'Artist painting'

I drive everyday pass our little bus-stop in Medlow bath and was always wondering what sort of artwork will be done. (It was left for a while in white paint (in preparation of the work) but nothing was done due to the wet weather) and was thinking how long it will be left that way as it is often subject of tagging/graffitis.  Then I suddenly could see a bit of colour happening until one day, I stopped by and had a chat with the artist painting it.  

I thought I might have seen her locally and sure enough, is an artist of Blackheath.

It was very nice to have a talk with her and allowed myself to get some shots 'in action'.

Great job you've done Lindena Robb !

Our bus-stop looks so much better now and very colourful! :)

Blue Mountains Photographer: High tea at the Hydro Majestic

Good morning everyone...

What a busy 1st and 2nd week-ends of November I had !  The iconic Hydro Majestic Hotel opened part of their premises such as the Wintergarden room for their High Tea packages which included  a photo memory taken by... ME ! 
So exciting to be part of this, have met lots of new people, and talked to a lot of people with interesting stories of their past experiences at the Hydro.
(I also had a taste of their high tea and... so delish !)
I should be back taking photos on some week-ends when they open fully mid-december so come and check it out yourself too ! Definitely the new jewel of the Blue mountains !

(Bonjour tout le monde... J'ai eut le premier et deuxieme week-end de Novembre super charge'.
Le Hydro Majestic Hotel a ouvert une partie de leur etablissement en offrant un tea-time et dans leur package etait inclu une photo souvenir prise par... moi ! :)
J'ai rencontre' beaucoup de personnes, discute' avec beaucoup d'autres aussi avec des histoires tres interessantes ainsi que leur propres experience avec cet hotel ouvert bien des annees auparavant.
Vous me retrouverez certainement de nouveau a certain w-ends lorsqu'ils ouvriront completement mi-decembre alors venez vous-meme leur rendre visite.  La visite en vaudra la peine, la decoration est simplement magnifique ! Le petit bijou des Montagnes bleues pour sure !)

Blue Mountains Photographer: 'Renewal of wedding vows'

Good morning everyone !  It just seems that time just flies and I lean to miss posting things here... I have been more active on the Facebook field but I will try to do more updates specially for those who are not on facebook.

I have been very busy this week shooting the theme of 'Love'.  

Here is Susan and Chris who are celebrating their anniversary in the Blue mountains and have opted for a lovely and intimate  do.  The weather was so uncertain with some rain... and some stormy clouds which made for some interesting photos before the real storm hit the area.

It was lovely to capture this special moment for you,

(Bonjour a tous et toutes ! que le temps passe si vite... j'ai tendance a moins poster ici mais j'essaierais de mon mieux de le mettre a jour pour ceux qui ne sont pas sur Facebook.

J'ai eut une semaine tres prise pour des shoots sur le theme de 'L'Amour'.

Voici Susan et Chris qui celebrent leur anniversaire de mariage dans les Montagnes Bleues et ont opte' pour une petite ceremonie tres intime.  Le temps etait assez tumultueux entre la pluie et de l'orage en prevision mais j'ai pu toutefois capturer des photos tres interessantes avec les gros nuages avant que l'orage arrive sur les lieu.

Heureux anniversaire de mariage pour Susan et Chris !

Blue Mountains Photographer: 'Portrait de la Lune' - Portrait of the Moon

Oh my gosh, this is ridiculous ! I have neglected this blog again ! and it will be too difficult to catch-up !  I do spend a lot more time on FAcebook though (as we all do lol!)

Last week I shot the full moon...
I love how she looked at me and gave me  her best angle...

C'est serieusement ridicule ! Je neglige ce blog encore une fois ! Et je pense que cela sera tres difficile de tout rattraper ! Je passe beaucoup trop de temps sur Facebook (comme tout le monde n'est-ce pas ?

La semaine derniere, j'ai capture' la pleine lune... 
J'adore comment elle s'est prise au jeu et m'a donne' son plus bel angle...

Blue Mountains Photographer: 'Autumn girl'

Hi everyone.... We are in changing seasons and looking at the gorgeous redish/orangy 

leaves falling around me, inspired me to do the 'Four Seasons' and of course, 

its the right time to capture 'Autumn'.

After I gathered bits and pieces for my 'Autumn' shoot, it turned more like 

an oriental look but still quite like it !

Bonjour... On change de saison et en voyant les feuilles rouges/oranges tomber autour de moi, m'a inspire' a shooter 'Les quatres saisons' et bien sure, 

c'est le moment ou jamais

de capturer 'L'Automne'.
En rassemblant mes accessoires pour mon shoot 'Automne' cela a plutot 

tourne' vers une touche orientale que j'aime toutefois.
